This week Staples has some great deals. The first and best thing is you can buy a backpack and they give you back 100% of the purchase price, so its like getting a FREE BACKPACK! This is a great option if you can afford to pay for it up front. (please note that the rewards come in a form of a check only good for use at staples).

Smiths is Rounding Coupons to $1 starting July 28

Great News! Smiths is having their coupon round up again. If you missed it last time, this is going to be a lot of fun for you! Last time I did this, my total came to $360 and my total out the door was $90, and I had $10 in rebates to mail in for and a $5 Catalina which made it only $75. That is a total savings of $285 and 80%.
Here is the details:

Starting Wednesday at 6:00 am 7/28-7/31 (4 days only) Smith’s will be rounding up coupons that are under $1.00 to a $1.00.

.25¢ = $1.00
.50¢ = $1.00
.75¢ = $1.00

Lesson Learned

So I learned something while I was shopping yesterday!
If you are buying something for a rebate and you know you are going to need to send a receipt in, GET A GIFT RECEIPT. All you have to do is ask, and they print it out in about 5 seconds. If you are at Smiths, and at the self-checkout, you can just click a little button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and walah! you have two receipts. So if there is any question, just get the extra receipt.

If you haven't used Grocery Smarts before, NOW is the time to start. It is a great free service, that goes through and lists all of the grocery deals for the week, and lists the coupons that go with them, as well as if it is a good deal or not. You can't go wrong. Check it out here.

Smith's Shopping Trip 7/19/10

I was looking over the deals that I had loaded to my Fresh Values card over the last while, and noticed some really high value coupons on there.
The ones that caught my attention were:
$3/1 Tide Stain Release
$2/1 Venus Razors
$1/1 Tampax Tampons (cardboard)

And I got looking at the coupons we got recently in the 7/4 PG and what do you know?
There was:
$3/1 Tide Stain Release Coupon
$2/1 Venus Razor Coupon
$1/1 Tampax Coupon

So I did some looking around at Smiths and found this out:
The 18 count Tide Stain Release was $7.49
          Use the $3/1 e-coupon on your smith's card
          Use the $3/1 coupon from the 7/4 PG
          Total = $1.49
The Simple Venus 4pk Razors $5.99 (this item is part of the Mega 10 so it could be as low as $5.49, see below)*
          Use the $2/1 e-coupon on your smith's card
          Use the $2/1 coupon from the 6/6 PG
          Total = $1.49 or $1.99
The 20 ct Tampax Tampons were $3.39
          Use the $1/1 e-coupon on your smith's card
          U the $1/1 coupon from the 6/6 or 7/4 PG
          Total = $1.39

The total of my order would have came to $18.03 with tax.

With the coupons listed above everything came to only $6.03. So I saved 66% and paid only $2.03 per item. I think that's pretty good.

Sunday Paper Overview

The paper today wasn't too bad. You got a great FREE SMOOTHIE coupon good at McDonald's in the Parade Magazine. There was a sheet of Tanger Outlet coupons (you can use in Park City). There was a 20% off coupon for Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and a Smart Source insert. The coupons in the SS weren't great, but with a little luck, there will some great sales, and we can take advantage of them. There were also various store ad's with their own coupons and the usual ads for Michales and JoAnn's that have the 40% off coupons among several others.

There are several places that sell the Sunday papers on Saturday and on Monday, so check at the grocery store in the morning to see if they have the double edition (Tribune and Deseret News) for only $3 and you can grab a free McDonalds Smoothie on the way home!
