Smiths Shopping Trip 8/18/10 = 88% Savings
So my husband loves the granola bars and soups for his work, so we decided to go and grab some. Make sure you wipe your Fresh Values Card. I waited to do mine at the end so I could see the total and I think it was about $50 on the second transaction, after I swiped my card it took the e-coupons and adjusted the prices to show the sale prices. Here is how it went:
Transaction 1:
(1) Fiber One Granola Bar $2.49
(1) Nature Valley Granola Thins $2.49
(3) Nature Valley Nut Clusters $2.49
(2) Betty Crocker Potato Pouches $0.99 each
(1) Smart Balance Sour Cream $1.99
Total = $16.91 (tax included)
Use (1) $0.50/1 coupon for fiber one bars here or hereUse (1) $0.50/1 coupon for nv granola thins here or here
Use (3) $1.00/1 coupon for nv nut clusters from here and the 8/8 GM
Use (1) $0.50/2 coupon for the betty crocker potatoes (found peelie coupon on the boxes)
Use (1) $0.50/1 coupon for the sour cream from the 7/11 RP
$4.00 is taken off (8 participating items were bought, click here for more details)
Total comes down to $7.91
(I didn't realize, but I had some e-coupons on my smiths card for some of these items, and that took another $1.50 off.)
So my oop total for all of this was $6.41
Now that's pretty good, then a Catalina printed out for $3.50 off your next order because of the (5) Nature Valley Items!!! That brought my total down to $2.91 for everything. YEA! I figured that it should have cost $23.71 without coupons or FV card, thats a savings of 88%, and with 8 items that means that I only paid $0.36/item. So excited.
Transaction 2:
(2) Betty Crocker Potato Pouches $0.99 each
(2) Sobe Juice Drinks $0.98 each
(8) Progresso Soup $1.50 each
(1) Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough $1 (normally ($2.49)
(2) 1 Turtle and 1 BBQ Chex Mix $1.99 each
(2) Cheddar Chex Mix $1.79 each
(8) Gold Fish Crackers $1 each
(1) Smart Balance Milk $2.25 (marked down from $3.99)
Total = $35.79 (tax included)
Use (1) $0.50/1 coupon peelie found on the boxes for the Betty Crocker Potatoes
Use (4) $0.50/2 coupons for the Progresso soup in the 8/8 GM
Use (2) $0.50/1 coupon for the chex mix here
Use (1) $0.50/2 coupon for the cheddar chex mix in the 8/8 GM
Use (6) $0.75/1 coupons for the Goldfish Grahams from here
Use (1) $2/1 coupon for the milk from here or the 7/11 RP
These coupons and the ones that were on my fresh values card brought the total down to $13.29. Then I used the $3.50 Catalina from the previous transaction and it made our oop total $9.79 for everything. Calculating it at $13.29 for all of it, and considering, if we hadn't used our FV card or coupons, we would have paid $50.31, its a savings of abut 74% and an average of about $0.51 per item. I think that's awesome!
I was really excited about this trip. It was a lot of fun.We got a ton of snacks and soup for my hubby for work, and for me and my kiddos at home. :)
